Staff and food were great
We arrived a half hour early and were told check in was not until 2. The girl at reception just told us tea and coffee were being served in the bar while we wait. We have been in many a hotel and no matter when we arrived we were always checked in even though rooms may not have been ready. The Commodore were havif none of this. The following morning got knock on door at 11.50 to say they wanted room vacated by 12!!!
Comfort & Location
Some bar staff & waiting staff a little inexperienced.
Good location for touring on motorbike. Car park down the road, secure but a bit untidy. Cobh was getting ready for the commemoration of the Titanic after the Easter weekend. Great for Titanic information. Room was at the back of hotel, views of a roof!
staff very friendly and helpful. lovely old worlde hotel with lovely view of the sea.
disappointed with the breakfast ,was a bit cold and not a great choice on menu. but overall a lovely hotel.
Real no nonsense good value hotel....excellent food at reasonable prices.
Chips were inedible...fortunately i was full up from the rest of my meal...which was superb.
It was my sons birthday and we picked Cobh for the Titanic experience as he is mad into anything Titanic the Receptionist gave us a beautiful room overlooking the river, later on that night we got to go up the roof to watch the fireworks, that really topped it for my sons birthday. Totally enjoyable visit we will be back.
Comfortable room, if a little shabby. Overall the hotel is quite shabby but has a nice old fashioned feel about it, and the lift is quite quaint. There are magnificent views from the top front rooms. The bar staff were really friendly and accommodating. The bar food was excellent. Breakfast in the room arrived promptly with correct order, though I found the 5 euro extra for breakfast in the room very steep and an unnecessary additional cost.
Extra charges for room service.
Well located and staff friendly and helpful
Asked for harbour view and were asked to pay 7.50 euro a night extra, got room overlooking a very dirty yard and looking directly onto galvanized roof not very nice as the other room was left vacant,we have stayed in the Commodore several times in recent years, what about loyal customers????
ambiance, traditional yet comfortable surroundings
friendly staff, good inexpensive food, ideal location and great value for money
Very comfortable and friendly staff
I was billed twice as I booked Online and was debited by them and had to pay at the Hotel as they informed me that the online was authorisation olnly and would not be actually taken from my account. I should have some fun trying to get this payment back
Staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. I arrived early--tired and hungry. I was able to check in right away, and get some breakfast.
It's such a wonderful grand old hotel. Loved my room, but wish they'd given me one facing the harbor.
Very friendly staff, location was excellent. Very old-world and nice to be using a proper key in the door instead of a card!
Great stay and good staff and thanks for sending my daughters glasses back
I have stayed at the Commodore several times. I like it's rather traditional/old fashioned design and the splendid views overlooking the harbour. I always find the staff friendly and helpful. I really like the atmosphere and history. I stayed on my own this time - sometimes with my wife and son.
It would be nice if the swimming pool could be open during the Easter holiday. I also feel it would not break the bank to have somewhat larger TVs - perhaps with a few more channels.
